With the retirement of Bob Knight I've been in discussions about graduation rates versus coaches. So I ran across this web site and found it very interesting.
I was surprised to see Indiana so low and also as you mentioned Marquette.
Is there anywhere to see this data broken down by sport? And then what about by coaches? I would think Dick Bennett would be at or near the top. (When at UW Green Bay UW Wisconsin and then I forget where he went).
Anyway good material!

This looks a lot better. I really don't understand the NCSA. The other item I would like to highlight is that the nation's BEST public schools are also in the TOP 10 on this list - Cal, Virginia, UCLA, Michigan, and UNC are also the nation's TOP 5 public schools and I believe it is in that order (okay, so UCLA and Michigan are tied at third and I wanted to place UCLA before Michigan). The other fun fact here is that Duke and UNC are the two D1 athletic programs in closest proximity to one another in terms of distance. UCLA and USC are the only two D1 football programs in the same city (not true for basketball, one example includes Xavier and Cincy). Even though UCLA and USC are in the same city, Duke and UNC are closer to one another than we are. I think UCLA and USC is second in terms of D1 programs and distance. Funny that all 4 schools are also in the top 10. Also, Pac-10 doesn't just have 5 in the top 20 but we also have 4 in the top 10 - and all 4 of those schools are the CA representatives of the Pac-10!

[...] Update #2: After reviewing NCSA’s data, we decided a whole new post was warranted. We revamp the entire list and also take a look at how the BCS conferences stack up in our Athlademic Ratings - Revised. [...]
